About the Studio
For many people, having a portrait taken is both an intimate and nerve-wracking experience. For parents, there's the pressure of getting squirming children ready, and for high school seniors and adults, there can be the added stress of personal insecurities and the general uncertainty of how to pose for a portrait. I understand these considerations, and will be honored if you allow me to work with you.
When creating portraits, I strive for originality and freshness without compromising good taste. Ultimately, the right style depends entirely on what will best capture the subject. Although my personal style tends to lean toward dramatic lighting and more serious poses, you will find a wide variety of looks in my portfolio. We will choose the best style for you when booking your session. Whether you prefer the richness of a rustic outdoor session or the sophisticated simplicity of a high-end studio look, I can easily accommodate your needs.
I am always looking for energetic, outgoing seniors at area high schools to serve as senior reps. Receive FREE product in exchange for talking the studio up to your friends! Send me an e-mail to see if I have an opening at your school.
STUDIO AND HOURS
I shoot on location and at my custom-built barn studio in rural Hendricks County. I am a trial attorney by day, and photography is my stress-relieving artistic outlet. My hours vary widely depending on weather and client sessions. Please allow several days for me to get back with you if you call or email.
I have been a hobbyist photographer ever since I first developed my own film as a journalism student. I went on to law school and spent several successful years at a large law firm, but left to raise our children. Like many new parents, I couldn't get enough pictures of my first child. However, I became increasingly frustrated by the lack of service at the budget studios, but found most independent studios too high-priced. In the meantime, I was taking casual portraits of my children with wonderful results. Over the years, as I developed my technical and artistic skills, friends and relatives asked me to do portraits for them as well. I eventually set up a professional studio and enjoy my portrait work tremendously.
I love learning about the art of photography, and have studied technique with some of the best photographers in the nation. I am lucky enough to have had my work displayed at the Chase Tower in downtown Indianapolis, at the Stutz Art Space curated art gallery, and at other public venues around Indianapolis.
On the personal side, I have three lovely (on most days!) children and am very active in the Danville community. I have served on the board of directors for numerous charities and am very active in our local schools. My wonderful husband is a consultant in Indianapolis.
You will find that I am professional, low-key, and very easy to work with. I adore my clients, and am eager to see how I can help make your dream session come true!
